It seems like Lenovo is set to become the latest OEM to enter the gaming smartphone market. A new Gadgets360 report mentions that Lenovo has created a new Weibo account dedicated to gaming smartphones. The page has been named as Lenovo Legion which is a brand well-known for releasing gaming laptops.
The page does not offer many details but since it is owned by Lenovo and is also verified by Weibo, it is as official as it can get at the moment. We can expect the company to start sharing posts and possibly even teasers about future launches sooner than later. It is an ideal practice for companies to create dedicated social media pages with the aim of sharing official news and connecting with fans.
Lenovo will be joining Asus and Razer as companies globally renowned for dealing in the gaming market. While Razer kicked-off the whole gaming smartphone segment by releasing the original Razer Phone, Asus joined the club by announcing ROG Phone. Since then, both brands have launched Razer Phone 2 and ROG Phone 2 respectively. For the uninitiated ones, it is worth mentioning that ROG (Republic of Gamers) is a well-known Asus brand of gaming laptops, hardware, and accessories.
As far as Lenovo is concerned, it had previously revealed plans to release a new smartphone featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor. It would not be surprising if it turns out to be the first Lenovo Legion gaming smartphone. We will share more details as they will become public.
