OnePlus unveiled its new 120Hz QHD OLED display tech last week in China but it didn’t disclose which future smartphone will feature this. However, there have been speculations on it to be featured on none other than the obvious OnePlus 8 Pro. But still, we do need some substantial proof that could justify the possibility.
Until some confirmation, let’s stick with the leaks that come in the way. Now, an alleged hands-on image of the OnePlus 8 Pro has appeared online and it shows a snapshot of the Screen Refresh Rate setting. It is clearly visible that there are three options in Mode Selection to choose from, and the most prominent one that catches the attention is the 120Hz refresh rate. The brief of this mode reads “Maximum smoothness but slightly reduced battery life.”
The publication, Tru Tech that has posted this hands-on image claims it to be the pre-production unit. So, it is still not confirmed if the 120Hz is actually coming in the OnePlus 8 Pro. Also, the brief description of the mode doesn’t talk about the dynamic switch of the refresh rate based on the scenarios. It is unknown if OnePlus 8 Pro will produce the quad HD Plus resolution along with the 120Hz refresh rate or will it switch the display resolution to 1080p rather. So, things may change as the device in the image is said to be pre-production unit and OnePlus may not finalize them.
Getting more details from the leaked image, it has a punch-hole housed on the left side of the display that is surrounded by slim bezels. The right edge has the iconic alert slider and a power key. The phone has an in-display fingerprint scanner and the volume rocker is housed on the left edge.
