As smartphones have become a staple part of our lives, we tend to consume a lot of content on them as our daily drivers. Considering this, many smartphone users have adopted phablet phones with bigger displays, thus pushing the manufacturers to produce bezel-less displays to offer bigger displays in pretty much similar body frames. Though this wasn’t the case with tablets that were in the range of 7-inches from 10-inches all through these years.
Korean tech giant Samsung previously experimented with the display running 18.4 inches with a 1080p display, that came out in 2015 to Samsung Galaxy View, that was considered more of a media streaming device. Now, Samsung is working to bring LineageOS 15.1 that is based upon Android 8.1 Oreo. Sadly, the device never got a software update, and a custom ROM that was available was based on Android Marshmallow offered in the shape of CyanogenMod 13.
The current update is in the early stages so a couple of features don’t work like adaptive brightness as the light sensor doesn’t work. Likewise, camera app also doesn’t work, which means you won’t be able to do video calls. Netflix also needs to be sideloaded as it's not present in the PlayStore considering it’s yet not passed through SafetyNet.
