Samsung has announced two new color variants for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ flagships. The two new color options are Sunrise Gold and Burgundy Red which will go on sale only in selected markets around the world. While the first one is a completely new color release, we have seen the Burgundy Red color option with Galaxy S8 earlier.
In the official announcement post, Samsung described the Sunrise Gold variant as "satin gloss finish which wraps the smartphone in a tranquil glow and glimmer." While this is clearly a statement aimed at marketing the color as the right choice for buyers, you can check it out for yourself below.
Here is how Galaxy S9 looks in Burgundy Red color which is termed as one of the deepest Red color variants.
Younghee Lee, CMO and Executive VP of Samsung Electronics said,
"People want to be able to express their style and personality through their technology and color is a big part of that personalization. The new editions extend the color offerings of Galaxy S9 and S9+ with vibrant styles that embrace a modern and classic feel.”
The Burgundy Red Galaxy S9 duo will be made available only in China and South Korea with sales starting this month itself. As for the Sunrise Gold variant, it will be released in selected markets including Australia, Chile, Germany, Hong Kong, Korea, Mexico, Russia, Spain, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates and Vietnam. This is not a complete list and it can also make its way to some other markets which will be released as and when the expansion will take place.
With this announcement, the Galaxy S9 duo now has a total of six color variants. The other four are Midnight Black, Titanium Gray, Coral Blue, and Lilac Purple which were introduced at the time of the launch.
