Samsung Exynos 9820 Mangoose M4 core to beat ARM's Cortex-A76 | Report

Samsung is currently working on its next-gen flagship chipset which is likely to named Exynos 9820. It will be making its debut with the release of Galaxy S10 next year and as per a new leak, some interesting bits of details are doing the rounds of the internet. The new leak claims that Exynos 9820 chipset will feature Mongoose M4 cores which will not only be more powerful than ARM's Cortex-A76 cores but also more efficient.

This leak has been shared by a Twitter user Ice Universe who has a reliable track record when it comes to releasing information about Samsung products. He tweeted that Mongoose M4 cores are expected to beat Cortex A-76 cores which are claimed to clock up to 3.30GHz. This means that Samsung's next-gen cores should top this clocking speed and set a new benchmark for other processors.

He further expects Exynos 9820 to score over 13,000 on Geekbench which will put it in line with the under-development Apple A12 chipset for 2018 iPhone models. The latter was recently spotted on Geekbench where it scored around 13,000 which was a first for any chipset yet. It should be noted that Apple is using TSMC's 7nm manufacturing process for A12 processors and Samsung has opted for 7nm FinFET process for Exynos 9820.

At the moment, nothing can be said with surety but this new leak has certainly raised our expectations for the Samsung Exynos 9820 processor and Mongoose M4 cores. Since it will be making its commercial debut with the Galaxy S10, we can expect to hear some official announcements regarding the same around January 2019.
