In the past one year or so, we have seen different Android OEMs taking a keen interest in making gaming smartphones. Now, it seems like even Samsung wants to be a part of the club as a new leak suggests that it has already started working on such a device. The leak has been shared by the tipster @MMDDJ_ who has a pretty good record at leaking Samsung-related things.
In a recent tweet, the tipster mentioned that "Samsung is preparing gaming smartphone" and nothing else. There are no other details like specifications, release timeline, design or pricing. There is no doubt that this tweet would have been ignored if it was coming from someone else but considering its track record, almost everyone is taking the leak with at least a little bit of seriousness.

The information regarding technical specifications and features is missing but on the basis of existing gaming smartphone, we can surely make a few speculations. To begin with, Samsung will definitely be using the most powerful processor as and when and if this gaming smartphone is released. We will be seeing AMOLED display panel but likely with a higher refresh rate than the traditional one. There is a good chance that it could come with a bigger battery and some mechanism to keep it cool during long gaming sessions.
If the leak turns out to be true, it would not be surprising to see Samsung coming up with a gaming smartphone. We have seen companies making efforts to bring the ultimate gaming experience to mobile devices. Sony attempted this with the Ericsson Xperia Play in 2011 and it even had a gaming console inspired pad. More recently, it was the Razer Phone which started this sudden interest among phone makers to work on gaming phones. Even, HTC has confirmed its plans of releasing a gaming smartphone in the near future. But as far as Samsung is concerned, we will have to wait and see what exactly it brings to the table.
