03 August 2018 4

In less than a week the South Korean giant Samsung will hold the unpacked event to launch Galaxy Note 9, however, this doesn't stop Samsung from announcing new Galaxy Tab S4. The device is in rumors from past few weeks and finally its official now as a successor device of Galaxy Tab S3. The new Galaxy Tab S4 brings a number of goodies including S Pen Stylus, Book Cover keyboard, and native support Dex. It is the first Samsung device which doesn't require Dock to perform Dex functions.

When the Galaxy S-lineup device is put on the Dex, it disables display screen. However, that's not the case with the Galaxy Tab S4 as it supports dual screens. All you need to connect using HDMI cable to enjoy Dex features.

All accessories of Galaxy Tab S4 are sold separately except the S Pen which is shipped with the box. The S Pen on Galaxy Tab S4 performs all the functions which we have seen on the Galaxy Note 8.

As the name suggests the Tab S4 10.5 is featuring a Super AMOLED display of 10.5-inches with Quad HD screen resolution of 1600 x 2560 pixels. The display aspect ratio is 16:10, however, the company reduced the bezels around the display. The physical home button is now replaced with on-screen navigation buttons. Instead of a traditional fingerprint scanner, the device comes with an iris scanner as a primary security feature.

Under the hood slightly dated Snapdragon 835 SoC is powering the device with 4GB RAM with either 64GB or 256GB storage. Its native storage is further expandable via MicroSD. A 7,300mAh battery cell is on board to keep the Galaxy Tab S4 lights on. The rear primary camera is 13MP whereas the selfie camera is 8MP. As OS it will be pre-installed with Android Oreo straight out of the box. The LTE connectivity is an optional feature.
