Galaxy S9/S9+ gets camera improvements, October security patch update

15 October 2018 1

As per the expectations, Korean tech giant Samsung has finally released the October security patch for Samsung Galaxy S9 in addition to another feature that improves upon the already pretty impress smartphone camera that has been compared with the latest smartphones. This update was previously made available for the Galaxy Note 9.

The new feature that is meant for the front-facing camera offers face brightness in a scenario where there is bright backlighting. Likewise, other features include the security patch for October that was also released for Galaxy S8 and brings forward improved stability of the device. This update is currently being rolled out in Germany with build number G960FXXU2BRJ3 and G965FXXU2BRJ3 meant for Galaxy S9 and S9+ which has a size of about 244 MB. If you didn’t receive the OTA popup yet, you can manually head over to your device’s settings >> Software update.

Not that this update brings a lot of features, though one little addon to the camera is good enough for a monthly update. Galaxy S9 is also expected to get the ‘scene optimizer’ update which is also available in the Galaxy A7 (2018) model, that automatically adjusts the color of the pictures. Have you received the update yet? Let us know in the comment section below.
