It’s been long since we’re hearing about the Samsung’s Flip phone featuring two AMOLED displays. The phone was revealed in full glory with a wide range of pictures from all angles fulfilling the thirst of the tech enthusiasts and it was expected that the phone launch was quite near. Well, the time is finally here and the Korean tech giant Samsung has announced it finally.
The Android-powered smartphone offers a foldable form factor that we once used to have back in the days with a dial pad and a screen that showed up once the phone’s flip was opened. The same is the case with the newly launched W2019 which has two AMOLED displays. One at the outside (when the flip isn’t open) while another inside along with the keypad. Talking about the hardware internals, W2019 offers 6GB RAM, Snapdragon 845 and two memory options that include 128GB and 256GB which could also be further expanded via microSD card.
Both of the displays installed come with 16:9 aspect ratio with a 4.2-inch display having a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. Talking about the camera, the phone packs two cameras similar to Galaxy S9+ with one being 12MP with f/1.5-2.4 aperture while another telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. W2019 has another camera on the front side that offers 8MP having f/2.0 aperture.
Both of the display is powered by a battery capacity of 3,070 mAh which is charged via the USB-C connector. The phone also offers the power of Bixby AI-assistant and comes with Android 8.1 Oreo. It also offers a fingerprint sensor that is mounted on the side of the phone. Talking about the build quality, W2019 feels quite premium where its build-out of materials like diamond-cut aluminum and glass.
If flip form factor isn’t something that could make you lure into buying this phone, you might not be able to overlook the 17.3mm thickness that it gets due to its form factor. W2019 comes in Silver and Gold colors though it’s not yet sure when the phone would be launched and at what price.
