Samsung is rumoured to be working on a new smartphone in the upcoming A series which will come with a 4000 mAh battery and a 24MP rear camera. The Korean giant has lined up a number of phones for 2019, including the flagship S10 phones, Galaxy M20, and the upcoming A series line-up.
The rumoured Galaxy A50 will have a battery bigger than the Galaxy A9 (2018)’s and the Galaxy A8 Star’s as well as the Galaxy A8+ (2018). The 4,000 mAh battery coupled with Android Pie’s battery improvements will make the phone a powerhouse. The phone is rumoured to run Android Pie out of the box, according to a recent Geekbench listing. The phone is unlikely to debut before the Galaxy S10 smartphone.
The Galaxy A50 could come with wireless charging capabilities. The A50 will come with a 24MP camera similar to the Galaxy A7 and will be launched in 64GB and 128GB storage variants. The report doesn’t mention whether 24MP is the rear or the selfie camera. Under the hood, the phone will be powered by the Exynos 9610 SoC with 4GB of RAM. It may come with an Infinity-O or Infinity-V display and a fingerprint sensor underneath. The in-display fingerprint sensor could be an optical one instead of the ultrasonic variety which may come in the next-generation flagship, Galaxy S10 smartphones.
Another Samsung device, called the Galaxy M20 has also been making the rounds of the rumour mill for a while now which will come with a much larger 5,000 mAh battery pack. The upcoming A series phone and the M20 devices are expected to be launched soon, till then we ask our readers to take the specs with a pinch of salt.
