Samsung Galaxy A50 gets Bluetooth SIG certification, launch inching closer

25 January 2019 2

The South Korean giant Samsung is gearing to announce a number of Galaxy A lineup phones this year. The first Galaxy A series phone was announced back in 2014 and since then the company is expanding the series with new models every year. This year Galaxy A5 2018 successor is rumored to be announced as Galaxy A50. Today the Galaxy A50 appeared at the Bluetooth SIG certification which means it passes another hurdle ahead of the official announcement.

So far the Galaxy A50 appeared at the WiFi Alliance and Geekbench listing. The Bluetooth SIG certification clearly means the official launch isn't far away. The Samsung phone bearing model number SM-A505FN appeared at the Bluetooth certification. Well, it seems like the single SIM model SM-A505FN clears the certification whereas the dual SIM variant appeared at Wi-Fi Alliance with model number SM-A505FN/DS.

The certification didn't reveal any hardware details but it confirms the A50 will have Bluetooth 5.0 support. From what we heard so far the Galaxy A50 will be featuring an Infinity V display. It could also have an under-glass fingerprint scanner. The rear side will have triple cameras setup. Under the hood, the Exynos 9610 SoC will be powering the phone with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Last but not least it is expected to have 4,000mAH battery cell.

The Samsung Galaxy A50 isn't still available. To be notified when it becomse available click here.

One of the promising phones in the A series, what's excellent to see here is the latest Bluetooth version. Heard quite a few great things about Bluetooth 5.0.

Obviously warming to see Samsung supporting the modern tech like the Bluetooth 5.0 and the in-display fingerprint reader. Puts more weight behind the mid-range phones like those in the A lineup.
