Samsung's upcoming smartwatch has been referred to as Galaxy Watch Sport in all of the leaks so far but as per the latest leak, it will actually be released as the Galaxy Watch Active. This new leak is based on the information shared by an XDA member deadman96385. Additionally, firmware files of the smartwatch have shed some light on specifications and features.

These files suggest that the Galaxy Watch Active bears the model number SM-R500 and is internally referred to as pulse. The display size on the wearable is 1.3-inch which is just a little bigger than the currently available Gear Sport's 1.2-inch display. Under the hood, it will be featuring the Exynos 9110 processor which is an upgrade over the one present in the soon-to-be predecessor model.

The whole package is powered by a 230mAh battery which is smaller than the previous model. This could be due to the fact that it is for the smaller model and we might get to see a bigger battery with the bigger model. Other features include LTE connectivity, speaker, Samsung Pay support (no MST), and NFC. It is further said to have dual e-SIM connectivity but this particular claim could not be verified by XDA folks. For health and fitness features, it will have a heart-rate sensor but the team did not find anything to suggest that it might also have blood pressure monitoring.

The Samsung Galaxy Active smartwatch is expected to get official at Galaxy Unpacked event on February 20th. It is the same event where we will see the unveiling of the Galaxy S10 lineup with the possibility of the foldable phone as well.
