Samsung at its Unpacked event 2019 where it launched the new Galaxy S10 series also announced the new wearable line. The new products are a smartwatch called Galaxy Watch Active, an activity tracker which is the Galaxy Fit e, and wireless earbuds known as the Galaxy Buds.
The new Galaxy Watch Active looks beautiful and it packs premium features over its predecessor. It’s thin, light, and attractive with its minimalist design. Samsung calls it a holistic approach towards the health as it monitors not only exercises but your sleep, stress and other health-related tasks. This also includes Blood Pressure Monitoring so that you can have a better track of your health. You just have to download the My BP Lab directly to your Watch Active to monitor blood pressure.
Furthermore, the Galaxy Watch Active also keeps your stress levels in check and guides you accordingly. It tells you to do some breathing exercises so that you could cool down your stress.
It's powered by Exynos 9110 Dual core processor clocked at 1.15 GHz and coupled with 768MB RAM with 4GB internal memory It runs Tizen-based Wearable 4.0 OS and includes a 1.1-inch display with 360x360 pixels resolution. It comes with 20mm interchangeable straps. It's 5ATM + IP68 / MIL-STD-810G, so quite good at durability. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi b/g/n, NFC, A-GPS/Glonass. It comes in four colors: silver, black, rose gold, and sea green.
The device is compatible with Android and iOS and it offers real-time coaching, indoor/outdoor activity tracking features. The Galaxy Watch Active can also be controlled using Bixby’s voice capabilities. With the help of this voice assistant, you can make calls or send messages without picking it up.
The Galaxy Watch Active is priced at $199.99 and it will be released on March 8th in the US. Those who preorder the Watch Active between February 21st and March 7th will receive a complimentary wireless charging pad as well.
Samsung likes to call the Galaxy Buds as cord-free earbuds for you to have a connected experience. The Galaxy Buds come with Enhanced Ambient Sound that allows you to hear your surroundings clearly even while the buds are in your ears. It comes with the Adaptive Dual Microphone that uses an inner and outer microphone so that you could deliver your voice clearly and loudly.
The Galaxy Buds offer up to 6 hours of Bluetooth streaming and up to five hours of calls. The compact case in which these buds come is rated to hold a charge for up to seven hours and offers 1.7 hours to the Galaxy Buds if you charge for just 15 minutes. The intelligent assistant can be activated using the Bixby integrated into the buds. Just like the Watch Active, simply use your voice to make calls, send text messages.
The Galaxy Buds support the Bluetooth 5.0 and are compatible with Android 5 or above with devices having 1.5GB RAM or above. It comes in Black, White, and Yellow colors.
Samsung has also launched the Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Fit e activity trackers for active lifestyles. Samsung claims that these trackers do some intuitive tracking so that you could reach your fitness goals easily. They can automatically start tracking your activity when you’re walking, running, riding a bike, or any other dynamic workout. There are over 90 different activities which you can manually select, however using the Samsung Health app on your compatible phone.
Like the Galaxy Watch Active, they can also track your sleep and stress and manage you accordingly. Also, you can receive alerts and messages or check the widget. It also shows automatically a dual-clock watch face when you travel to a new time zone. Both the activity trackers are water-resistant of 5ATM so you can wear them near to a pool party even.
The Galaxy Fit features a 0.95-inch full-color AMOLED display and includes 32MP ROM. It comes in Black and Silver color options. The Galaxy Fit e, on the other hand, includes a 0.74-inch PMoled display and includes 4MP external ROM. It comes in Black, White, and Yellow.
