Samsung has quietly taken wraps off the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019). It is the latest tablet of the year and joins the lineup which already has the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2019). Even though it has a smaller display than the previous release, it has a few features which are better like the support for S Pen.
With Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019), users will get an 8-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) LCD display. Under the hood, it has an octa-core Exynos 7904 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. This is the same chipset as the larger variant but it has been paired with a bigger RAM. The storage capacity remains the same at 32GB with microSD card support up to 512GB.
It has an 8-megapixel camera on the back and a 5-megapixel camera on the front. The camera app on the tablet comes packed with features like Bokeh effect, AI stickers, face beauty filters, and more. The whole package is powered by a 4,200mAh battery claimed to last for up to 11 hours while browsing the internet. It features a USB Type-C port, no fingerprint scanner, and runs One UI based on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box. The accompanying S Pen is said to be the same one which we saw with the Galaxy Note 8.
Samsung has also launched an LTE variant of the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019). It has been made available in Black and White color variants. There are no words on the pricing yet but it is reported to be made available in Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and the United Kingdom.
