The tech site SamMobile is claiming that it has pictures of the new smartwatch. It has shared a video in which the folks over at the tech site are discussing the design changes the upcoming smartwatch is going to embrace. According to the site, the Watch Active 2 will come in two sizes: 40mm and 44mm, there are minimal changes in the design, though. The home/power button, for example, is round while the back button has a rectangular shape. There’s also a red circle around the home/power button. The Galaxy Watch Active 2 is expected to have Wi-Fi and LTE versions and 237 mAh and 340 mAh batteries. There appears to be a circular rim around the heart rate sensor.

Samsung is reportedly working on the successor to the Galaxy Watch Active wearable but it may not arrive too early. SamMobile citing its sources claims that the design of the Galaxy Watch Active 2 is going to be similar to the predecessor, which means Samsung will use the same side-swiping system UI for better navigation.
Samsung Galaxy Watch Active is much praised for the comfort it offers over the Gear Sport that came with rotating bezels. So, this could be a reason that Samsung is sticking to its last smartwatch’s design. With the Galaxy Watch Active, Samsung ditched the rotating bezels for better comfort and compactness. The new design made it 20 percent smaller and about 60 percent lighter than the Galaxy Watch.
The upcoming smartwatch may include some design tweaks but major changes aren’t speculated. Keeping aside the aesthetics, the device will obviously gain some improvements and features not available in its predecessor.
SamMobile’s report doesn’t mention when this device could release. Also, there can’t be any guesses on the same, since the Galaxy Watch Active came out just four months back. So, seeing its successor coming so early isn’t possible.
In related news, Samsung is reportedly working on its new Note series and also testing Galaxy Fold to know what went wrong with the device. The Galaxy Note 10 series is expected to launch on August 7 but there is currently no launch timeframe for the foldable device, though Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy Fold delays won’t affect the new Note release.
