Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019) brings 5100mAh battery and kids mode

08 July 2019 0

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019) is the latest member of the Galaxy Tab A lineup for the year. It is the most affordable offering in the series as it joins the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019) with S Pen stylus and Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2019) tablets. It is packed with entry-level specifications and a dedicated kids mode.

As the name suggests, the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019) is an 8-inch Android tablet with 1200 x 800 pixels resolution. It is powered by the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 429 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. It comes with 32GB of internal storage with support for microSD cards up to 512GB for storage expansion.

The tablet has an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera which should be good enough for decent shots. There is a 5,100mAh battery to keep the lights on. If we consider the battery capacity and display resolution, it should be good enough for watching a movie on a single charge.

In terms of features, Samsung is offering a dedicated mode called Kids Home mode. It is said to deliver "fun and interactive" features that are expected to be enjoyed by kids. The mode will also enable a new kids-friendly UI so that they can interact with all the features easily and conveniently.

Samsung has launched the tablet in the WiFi-only model but an LTE variant will be coming soon as well. There are no words on the pricing or availability yet but it will be offering free Spotify Premium (3-months) and YouTube Premium (2-months) subscriptions in select markets.
