Samsung has made its new Android tablet Galaxy Tab S6 official days before the Galaxy Note 10 launch. There wasn’t any special event conducted for the tablet but this doesn’t mean it’s not special in any way. The tablet is a beast in every sense and it includes some never-seen-before features as well. It’s a significant upgrade over its predecessor in terms of specifications and design aesthetics as well.
The Galaxy Tab S6 comes with a 10.5-inch AMOLED display with a 2,560x1,600 pixels resolution. Note that the display size and even the resolution are same but the overall footprint makes it look smaller than the Galaxy Tab S5e. It comes with quad AKG-tuned speakers for rich and immersive surround sound.
The latest Galaxy Tab from Samsung includes a dual-camera setup with an ultra-wide-angle lens. The configuration includes a 13MP primary sensor and a 5MP secondary sensor. It also comes with an 8MP front camera that supports facial recognition. It also includes an optical in-display fingerprint scanner.
What makes it powerful is the latest Snapdragon 855 processor coupled with 6GB or 8GB RAM options. With so many impressive and powerful specifications, the Galaxy Tab S6 becomes a productivity-based tablet that can do much more than you expect from a tablet.
Unfortunately, like the Tab S5e, the Tab S6 also does not have a headphone jack. But it has an S Pen which gets docked magnetically on the back of the tablet and rests there when not in use. This is an interesting method of putting the S Pen and charging it at the same time, unlike the Note series S Pen that rests within the device. According to Samsung, the S Pen of the Galaxy Tab S6 has up to 10 hours of battery life and it takes just 10 minutes to charge.
One of the interesting features is, you can move the S Pen around the air like a magic wand and control your device. Samsung calls this gesture function of the S Pen as Air Action. It remotely controls features like multimedia and also lets you take selfies, videos when your tablet is out of reach. You can twist and move it to change the volume, zoom with the camera, and more.
Samsung has also equipped the Tab S6 with a new version of DeX, dubbed DeX 3. The new DeX function key is present on the Book Cover Keyboard and this makes it easy to launch. Samsung didn’t go in-depth to share the details of the upgraded DeX experience.
