Samsung has officially unveiled the latest Galaxy Note lineup and this time around, there are two models: Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10 Plus. The biggest difference between the two is the size which you will notice straight away. The Plus variant is actually Galaxy Note 9's direct successor with all the high-end specs and top-notch features. The standard Note 10 is more of an affordable and compact option for those who don't want to go for the premium.
The Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10 Plus offer a 6.3-inch Full HD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels) and 6.8-inch Quad HD+ (3040 x 1440 pixels) Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O display respectively. It is an edge-to-edge display with almost negligible bezels on all four sides and a punch-hole for selfie camera in the center. All-in-all, it is a beautiful display which looks stunning no matter how many times you look at it.
Both phablets will come with 7nm octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 or Exynos 9825 processor depending on the market. The Galaxy Note 10 has been released in only one configuration i.e. 8GB of RAM with 256GB internal storage. The Plus variant features 12GB of RAM with an option to choose from 256GB and 512GB internal storage.
In the camera department, the Galaxy Note 10 has triple rear cameras including a 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture, a 12-megapixel wide-angle sensor with f/1.5-f/2.4 aperture, and a 12-megapixel telephoto sensor with f/2.1 aperture. The Galaxy Note 10 Plus has quad cameras with three sensors being exactly the same along with an additional DepthVision camera sensor. The front camera on both devices is a 10-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture.
Samsung has packed the new phablets with a bunch of camera features which are primarily aimed at pro/advanced users. There is Live Focus support for videos so that users can adjust the field of depth effect even for videos. Another cool video recording feature is Zoom In Mic which basically focuses on the sound of the subject that you are focusing on and reduces all other sounds. For those who might prefer video editing on the go, there is a native video editor with all the advanced editing tools. Lastly, there is also a native screen recorder so that you don't have to go look for screen recording apps.
The new Galaxy Note devices come with an all-new S Pen stylus with features like handwriting to text and Air Actions. The first feature does what it says which is to automatically convert your handwritten notes into digital text. This will be helpful in searching for notes later and customizing notes by shrinking, enlarging, or changing the text color. As for Air Actions, these are basically gestures that can be done in air to perform certain tasks with S Pen. Some of these include switching between front/rear camera, taking pictures, zooming in/out, and play games.
The whole package is powered by a 3,500mAh and 4,300mAh battery on the standard and Plus model respectively. There is support for Super Fast Charging, wireless charging, and Wireless PowerShare (reverse wireless charging) on the phablets. These will be running Samsung's One UI based on Android 9 Pie out of the box. Other features include fingerprint scanning, facial recognition, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and USB Type-C port. Samsung has decided to ditch the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack.
Samsung also announced Galaxy Note 10 5G and Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G models but did not go into details. The only thing we know for now is that the standard Galaxy Note 10 5G will have 12GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage. It will be released on August 23rd and will be Verizon exclusive in the beginning.
The Galaxy Note 10 has been priced at $949 which is the for the 8GB/256GB LTE model. On another hand, the Galaxy Note 10 Plus will cost you $1,099 and $1,199 for 12GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB models respectively. Both models are already up for preorders with sales starting August 23rd.
