12 December 2019 0

Samsung has officially launched two new mid-range smartphones named Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71. Both of these are quad rear camera smartphones with upper mid-range specifications. These are also similar in design and specifications except for a few changes here and there to justify the price difference. Let's have a look at them one by one.

Samsung Galaxy A51

The Samsung Galaxy A51 sports a 6.5-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity-O display. The display panel has a tiny circular punch-hole in the center like the Galaxy Note 10. Under the hood, it comes with the octa-core Exynos 9611 processor clocked at 2.3GHz and coupled with 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB of RAM. The onboard storage options include 64GB and 128GB with microSD card support.

It has an L-shaped quad-camera setup on the back panel. The four cameras are 48-megapixel with f/2.0 aperture, 5-megapixel depth with f/2.2 aperture, 5-megapixel macro with f/2.4 aperture, and 12-megapixel ultra-wide with f/2.2 aperture. There is a 32-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture.

The whole package is powered by a 4,000mAh battery with 15W fast charging. It features an in-display fingerprint scanner but the running Android version has not been disclosed yet. The Galaxy A51 has been released in Blue, White, Prism Crush Black, and Pink color variants. It has been priced at 7,990,000 Vietnamese Dong (about $350) for the base model with sales starting December 27th.

Samsung Galaxy A71

The Samsung Galaxy A71 is the elder sibling and is more expensive. It has a 6.7-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity-O display which means the same design. It also has an undisclosed octa-core processor but with only 6GB and 8GB RAM options. It is available in a single 128GB storage option with support for microSD cards.

The smartphone has the same L-shaped quad-camera setup but with one major difference. It has a 64-megapixel main camera with f/1.8 aperture and all other sensors are the same. The selfie camera is also the same i.e. a 32-megapixel with f/2.0 aperture. It has a 4,500mAh battery to keep the lights on with 25W fast charging support. It also has an in-display fingerprint scanner. The Galaxy A71 is available in Blue, Silver, Prism Crush Black, and Pink color variants. There are no details regarding pricing and availability yet.
