Samsung is one of the few OEMs that are fully committed to releasing Chromebooks. It has announced the new Galaxy Chromebook at CES 2020 which is a 2-in-1 convertible offering. It is the thinnest Samsung Chromebook yet and is packed with a number of high-end and premium features.
The Galaxy Chromebook features a 13.3-inch 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160 pixels) AMOLED touchscreen display. All the bezels are very slim which helps in delivering an immersive viewing experience. It is powered by the 10th Gen Intel Core processor paired with Intel UHD graphics and up to 16GB of LPDDR3 RAM. It offers up to 1TB SSD storage space for storing one's all files, software, and other data.
There are two camera sensors: 1-megapixel on the front and 8-megapixel on the keyboard deck. Other features include 2W dual stereo speakers, built-in Pen stylus, WiFi 6 (Gig+) support, and a fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication. It comes with a backlit keyboard and connectivity options are two USB 3.0 ports, a UFS/microSD combo, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It will run Google's Chrome OS out of the box as the operating system,
Samsung has priced the Galaxy Chromebook at $999.99 with an option to choose from Mercury Gray and Fiesta Red colors. It will go on sale sometime in Q1 2020.
