Samsung has, at least, two new foldable phones to launch this year and while the existence of one is apparently confirmed, a new trace confirms the existence of the second. It is the Galaxy Z Flip foldable device that has been into rumors for a long time now. We recently saw an alleged hands-on video of the clamshell phone and now, its moniker just got confirmed by Samsung’s official Romanian website.
The support page on the website is titled “Case for Galaxy Z Flip Protective Leather Cover Black.” This clearly confirms the name of the device we have been learning about, though it includes nothing else. You will also not find the image of the Galaxy Z Flip on the support page, but at least, the name of the same is now official.
Going by the previous leaks and renders, the Galaxy Z Flip foldable phone holds a clamshell form factor and it could launch as soon as on February 11, at the Galaxy Unpacked event where the company will launch the new Galaxy S-series.
The Galaxy Z Flip, just as the name implies holds flip phones-like profile but with a flexible display. This flexible display is said to be using the “Ultra-Thin Glass.” This type of glass is supposed to provide better protection than the film, present on the Galaxy Fold. As shown in the hands-on video, the Galaxy Z Flip holds the Infinity-O display where the 10MP selfie camera is centrally aligned and housed in a punch-hole. It may come with two 12MP rear cameras that can record 4K videos with up to 30fps/60fps.
The Galaxy Z Flip will come powered by the Snapdragon 855+ processor, 8GB RAM, and 256 storage. There is also an external display which is 1.06-inches in size and has 300x116 pixels resolution to view basic things like date, time, and battery percentage. It features a side-mounted fingerprint reader and packs a 3,300mAH battery with 15W fast charging.
We are just a week away from the launch event where everything will get unveiled. So, let’s just wait for the event to take place.
