Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) is reportedly receiving the April 2018 Security patch in Netherlands and Luxembourg. Samsung receives a lot of criticisms for not seeding updates to its Galaxy smartphones but this time, the company has pushed everyone behind by releasing the latest security patch to one of the phones from J-series.
Even Google hasn’t yet detailed this security patch; Pixel phones haven’t yet received this update. What changes does the Galaxy J3 (2017) receive after this update is still a question as Google yet to make the customary announcement on its website. It’s good to see a budget phone getting the latest Android security patch and that too from Samsung.
If we are not wrong, only Xiaomi Mi A1 has received April Security patch till now. Well, that’s true the device is an Android One phone and it’s meant to receive the update faster or in the first wave than others. So, it’s not really a surprise actually and seeing Samsung going ahead and taking this step is actually noteworthy and appreciable at the same time.
If you have the Galaxy J3 (2017) and you live either in the Netherlands of Luxembourg then you can manually check for the update. Simply, go to Settings > Software update menu and see if the update has arrived for you. After the update, you will see the latest security patch in the About phone section on the phone’s settings menu.
