LineageOS' 'Trust' is a centralized interface for security and privacy features

13 June 2018 3

The team behind the custom ROM LineageOS has announced "Trust" which is basically a centralized interface for all privacy and security related features. It is basically a dedicated interface to allow LineageOS users to be more aware of the security of their device. Even the Privacy Guard feature has now been integrated with the Trust interface.

The new Trust interface is accessible from the Security & Privacy section available under the phone Settings. Once a user will visit the interface, he/she will see an overview of the security status of their device and whether there are any issues required to be fixed. It will offer suggestions on how they can be fixed and what else the user can do make his device more secure and maintain the privacy.

Additionally, LineageOS will now show the "Trust" icon whenever a user is doing some task or taking an action and it is safe to do so. It can be the action of granting permissions to an app or browsing some website. The team said whenever this icon becomes visible, it simply means that there is nothing to be worried about.

If you want to use the "Trust" feature, make sure that your device is running the latest LineageOS 15.1 weekly build. The team said that more new features will be added to the Trust in the near future.
