Nokia 6.1 new update brings September security patch and bug fixes

27 September 2018 2

Back at the MWC this year, HMD global announced all their future phones will be Android One devices. Since then we have seen all Nokia phones are getting updates at a regular interval of time. Even the entry-level variants are getting the major OS updates. As per latest info, the Nokia 6.1 is now receiving a new software update.

The latest update brings the September security patch with fixes for a number of vulnerabilities. Also, the update brings optimizations and fixes for small bugs. The key highlight of the update is indeed the latest security patch. The update weighs 81.7MB. Initially, it is being rolled out in UAE, Germany, and India.

As the update is being rolled out in patches, we can expect it will take days before being rolled out in other regions. If you already received the notification, we will recommend to backup your data before starting the update process. If you haven't received the update notification yet, you can checkout manually by going into settings menu >> About device >> Software update.

The Nokia X6 isn't still available. To be notified when it becomse available click here.
