Google Pixel 3 Call screen feature will put a stop to spam calls

Google has unveiled its latest offerings the Pixel 3 line-up at an event today. The company’s latest flagship model - the Pixel 3 will be able to screen spam calls and provide real-time transcriptions. The internet giant has announced the new feature today during the Pixel 3 launch event. The new feature will allow Google Assistant to answer all suspected spam calls, as well as transcribe the response in real time. It will is users to choose whether they want to answer the call or block the number entirely.

Google Assistant will alert callers that you are “using a screening service from Google”.

Google’s voice assistant will state, "Hi, the person you're calling is using a screening service from Google, and will get a copy of this conversation. Go ahead and say your name, and why you are calling."


Pixel 3 owners will get a copy of the conversation. It will ask the callers their names and reason for calling, which will then be relayed to pixel owners in real time.

The new feature will help in screening calls from questionable numbers which has been increasing daily. Over the past few years, spamming has become a big problem, which has led the FCC is finally taking action. The internet giant states that the Call screen feature will be available on Pixel 3 devices straight away and will be rolled out to the entire Pixel family next month.
