Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact now receiving November 2018 security patch

07 December 2018 3

Although we are in December the Japanese giant Sony is still rolling the last month security patch for their flagships. So far the company updated all flagships announced this year, last week the company started rolling the November 2018 security patch for the Xperia XZ Premium owners. Surprisingly at that time the company didn't roll out the update for XZ1 lineup.

However, the wait is finally over as the company is now rolling the last month security patch for the Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact owners. The latest update is being rolled out with build number 47.2.A.2.33. The good thing is the Sony rolling the update for all owners in different regions. The update weighs 250MB so we will recommend to download it with a stable WIFI network instead of mobile data.

Another important aspect is despite the fact its a security patch, we will recommend to backup your data before starting the update process and also ensures the device is at least 50% charged. Although the XZ1 and XZ1 Compact are last year's flagships both are running on the latest Android Pie. Its good to see Sony updated last year's flagships when many latest phones yet to receive the Android Pie update.

If you are amongst those who yet not received the update. You can checkout manually as well by going into settings menu >> About Device >> Software update manually. If you already updated your device, do share your views with fellow readers in the comments section below.
