Chinese electronics company Xiaomi has launched three new products in the US market. The company showcased the products at its first event for Mi fans in the United States last week.
Xiaomi’s "Meet Mi in the Box," two-day event allows interested users to experience the latest Xiaomi products as well as meet the team behind these products. Xiaomi showcased over 50 Mi ecosystem products as well as its latest Mi 8 and Mi A2 smartphones during the event.
As a promotional offer, Xiaomi is offering the Mi Box S which is available at Walmart for just $40. The devices come with all the features that are available in Google Chromecast, and comes with additional voice remote that's compatible with Google Assistant and support Android TV apps.
Xiaomi has been selling a few products at Walmart, however, the company showcased three of the new products coming to Walmart which are the Mi Wireless Charging Pad, Mi Robot Builder Rober, and a Mi Home Security Camera.
Xiaomi which has become the number one smartphone maker in India has also launched Mi Home experience stores in India. The company has showcased several new products and is slowly increasing its product portfolio in the country. The company’s Mi TV series has seen immense success in the country, and it has become the number one smart TV brand in India.
Similarly, Xiaomi’s latest US event will help it bring more products in the highly competitive US market, however considering the number of Chinese companies like Huawei and ZTE have failed make their mark in the country, it remains to be seen whether Xiaomi will be able to grab market share.
“We expect such kind of activities, which are highly interactive, can help us know more about users' need since R&D of the products and the build-up of a solid fan base are equally important for Xiaomi," said Nathan Yu, member of the Xiaomi team.
