Today we have good news for Nokia 3 owners as HMD Global finally starts rolling the Android Oreo 8.1 update. The Nokia 3 was the company's last year's entry-level offering. It was announced with the Android Nougat 7.0. Back in April, the company updated the Nokia 3 with Android Oreo.
Now before the end of the year, the company is updating their last year's phone with Android Oreo 8.1. It's a bit odd to see Nokia 3 yet not updated to the latest Android Pie when most Nokia phones are on the latest version of Android OS. On the other hand, it's a good sign HMD Still cares about its last year's entry-level phone.
The latest update also brings the December 2018 security patch. Like always the update won't be rolled out to everyone on a single day instead it will take few days before reaching out to everyone. If you haven't received the notification yet, you can checkout manually as well by going into settings >> About Device >> Software update.
If you already received the update, we will recommend to backup your important data before starting the update process. If your device is already updated, do share your thoughts regarding the Oreo 8.1 update in the comments section below. Stay tuned.
