Google released the November Android security patch for the Pixel family of phones but the update didn’t reach the original Google Pixel and Pixel XL phones. The reason behind the decision of Google was assumed to be the end of three years of updates support but it turns out the two phones will get one last update.
Gaining no latest security patch did disappoint the users but the confirmation given to TheVerge from the company shows Google isn’t leaving its first Pixel users unattended. The two phones gained the Android 10 update together with other members of the Pixel family and this raised some hopes for the original Pixel holders that their device will continue to receive the Android security patch.
Indeed, the two phones have already ended their period of getting the updates already but Google is giving one last surprise. The last update which is coming in December “encapsulates a variety of updates” from the November and December patches, so Pixel and Pixel XL phones will gain them at one time.
So Pixel and Pixel XL phone owners will be delighted to have one more update for the last time. The update is promised to include the necessary software updates the two phones need to have. We may see some feature updates or changes as well apart from just the security patches. So stay tuned.
