Here is how to change YouTube video quality on smart TV

19 March 2018 5

Smart TVs are capable of running a number of apps like we do on smartphones and tablets. And like the other two devices, YouTube remains one of the most commonly used apps among users. It gives you the freedom of watching your favorite videos on a bigger screen. But the only difference is that many users are unable to discover the way of adjusting YouTube video quality on a smart TV.

This is simply because YouTube did not allow adjusting video quality on smart TVs until the end of last month. It released an update to add the functionality which can be helpful in different situations including when you might be having a limited internet connection. So without further ado, let's get started.

Step 1: Launch the YouTube app on your smart TV and play any video you want.

Step 2: Make use of the remote control to bring video playback controls on the screen and click More Options.

Step 3: This will show you a list of options as shown in the screenshot below. Click on the video quality option.

Step 4: From the popped-up menu, choose the video quality you want to set for the video.

This way, you can adjust the quality of any YouTube video on your smart TV with ease. The only thing to keep in mind is that make sure that the video is available in that particular video quality that you want to adjust. If you have any doubts or questions, feel free to ask them in the comments section below.
