Amazon Prime Video VR now available for Oculus VR headsets

25 July 2019 0

If you are someone who loves to watch videos in virtual reality (VR), you now have one more option in the form of Amazon Prime Video VR application. This new app has been announced for Oculus VR headsets including Oculus Quest, Oculus Go, and Samsung Gear VR. The app availability is currently limited to users in the United States and the United Kingdom.

The Amazon Prime Video VR app will offer all sorts of content types including TV shows, movies, Amazon originals, and live events. As for titles that are compatible with VR tech, there are some good ones to get started with. These include The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, Good Omens, Guava Island, Catastrophe, The Grand Tour, Fleabag, The Man in the High Castle, Carnival Row, Bosch, and Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan. The team will be expanding VR content gradually with time.

Amazon has also added 360-degree videos which are said to be handpicked. There are a total of ten 360-degree videos including INVASION! (an Emmy-winning short film) and Greenland Melting documentary. The app will allow Prime users to access all of Prime Video's catalog but for non-Prime users, they will be restricted to their personal library for watching.

The application has voice commands support so that users can easily find what they are looking for. Amazon Prime Video VR is available for download via Oculus app store. The process of downloading and installing the app is the same as any other VR app. Once you have done it, all you need to do is to sign-in using your Amazon account.
