UPDATE (March 20th, 2020):
The Huawei P40 Pro and Huawei P40 smartphones have surfaced a new set of leaked renders. The leak is coming from well-known tipster Ishan Agarwal (@ishanagarwal24). The Pro model can be seen with a curved display, especially on the sides. It is also a punch-hole display panel that houses dual selfie cameras. The back panel has quad rear cameras and since there is no fingerprint scanner, it suggests an in-display fingerprint scanner.
#HUAWEI #P40Pro Official Renders in 3 colours (more soon)! This time with a front that will give you a better idea of how bezel-less the phone is, especially with all sides of the screen curved. I think it looks great in these colours. What do you think? #VisionaryPhotography pic.twitter.com/8v617QLMGK— Ishan Agarwal (@ishanagarwal24) March 19, 2020
As for the standard Huawei P40, it features a traditional flat display with punch-hole. The rear camera module looks similar to the Pro model but has only three camera sensors. It seems like the phone will also have an in-display fingerprint scanner.
Time for the #Huawei #P40 in the same 3 colour options. This one also looks pretty good but has a flat display, and one less camera. UPDATE (March 16th, 2020):
Even Blass, a well-known tipster, has tweeted a photo revealing Huawei P40 series color variants. It shows all devices Huawei P40, Huawei P40 Pro, and Huawei P40 Premium arranged in the form of a rainbow. Some of the colors are Blue, Black, Golden, White, Glacier, and Grey.
These devices have been placed at random but you can recognize them through the camera setup. The Huawei P40 has triple cameras, P40 Pro has quad cameras, and P40 Premium has a Penta-lens camera setup.
UPDATE (March 3rd, 2020):
Andy Boxall of Digital Trends has managed to get his hands on one of the Huawei P40 prototypes. He was able to get his hands on the unit during one of his interactions with a Huawei staff member who even let him click a few photos. It should be noted that the official did not reveal which Huawei P40 family device was it and added that "phone was not final, and aspects may change between now and the launch."
The prototype shows a design that gives Huawei P-series vibes. There is a horizontally aligned triple camera setup on the top left side along with an LED flash. There are "Polarie" and "Blink" texts instead of Huawei and Leica branding respectively. These are said to be internal codenames and the placement is a common Huawei practice while testing device prototypes. The in-hand feel of holding the prototype has been described as superb, especially the corners not as sharp as the predecessor.
UPDATE (January 17th, 2020):
Evan Blass (@evleaks), a renowned tipster, has shared Huawei P40 Pro renders on his official Twitter account. The first render gives a good look at the phone's design from all possible angles. The front panel appears to be completely bezel-less and has a pill-shaped punch-hole for dual selfie cameras. The back panel has a bigger and distinctive camera module that houses a total of five cameras and an LED flash. One can easily see the Leica and Huawei branding on the back. The phone is shown in two color variants i.e. Black and White.

Original (January 15th, 2020)
We are getting closer to the time when Huawei unveils a new P-series Android flagship. It is widely reported to announce Huawei P40 series this year with a focus on camera performance as it has been the case so far. Now, 91Mobiles has published a report featuring an alleged Huawei P40 render revealing the design.
The front panel design reveals that Huawei P40 will sport a punch-hole display. It is a major change from previous generation offerings as they were released with notches. It is a pill-shaped punch-hole on the top left corner and houses dual selfie cameras. This is undoubtedly a new design approach for the new flagship from Huawei. The display panel is tipped to be curved from all four sides that will offer it a distinctive look.
The smartphone is shown with a triple camera setup on the back panel. It has been developed in collaboration with Leica which is one of the signature aspects of P-series smartphones. The P40 Pro variant is reported to offer quad rear cameras along with up to 10x optical zoom. It will have a periscopic camera module for achieving high-quality zoom capabilities. The main camera is rumored to be of 52-megapixels which will merge four surrounding pixels to deliver 13MP still images.
Many other details about the Huawei P40 series are still missing. It is unknown when these will be launching but the launch is tipped to be around March 2020. It is worth noting that the P40 series is confirmed to arrive without Google apps and services like the Mate 30 lineup.
