Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy A51 smartphone in India. It is the latest mid-ranger from the company that comes with bezel-less display, quad rear cameras, and long-lasting battery. It made its debut alongside the Galaxy A71 last month but there are no words when the latter will be arriving in the country.

The Samsung Galaxy A51 sports a 6.5-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity-O display. The display panel has a tiny circular punch-hole in the center. Under the hood, it comes with the octa-core Exynos 9611 processor clocked at 2.3GHz and coupled with 6GB and 8GB of RAM. Both variants come with 128GB onboard storage with microSD cards support up to 512GB.

It has an L-shaped quad-camera setup on the back panel. The four cameras are 48-megapixel with f/2.0 aperture, 5-megapixel depth with f/2.2 aperture, 5-megapixel macro with f/2.4 aperture, and 12-megapixel ultra-wide with f/2.2 aperture. There is a 32-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture.

The whole package is powered by a 4,000mAh battery with 15W fast charging. It features an in-display fingerprint scanner but the running Android version has not been disclosed yet. The Galaxy A51 has been released in Prism Crush Blue, Prism Crush White, and Prism Crush Black color variants.

The Galaxy A51 Indian variant comes with four India-specific features:

  • Useful Cards: It is a feature that groups SMSes into categories like Reminders and Offers which are then shown in the form of visual cards. It is aimed at helping users find important messages without going through all the clutter in the inbox.
  • Multilingual Typing: It is a feature that shows text predictions in the language a user is typing the message. It is able to detect the language automatically and offer relevant predictions.
  • Finder: It is aimed at helping users find content from within apps without having to visit those apps individually. It will work for apps related to entertainment, e-commerce, food, and travel domains.
  • Smart Crop: It is a feature said to be capable of auto-detecting and cropping the main part of a screenshot. It further offers a quick way of editing, saving, and sharing that main part.

Samsung has priced the Galaxy A51 at Rs. 23,999 for the 6GB/128GB model. It will go on sale starting January 31st via different online and offline stores. It is yet to announce pricing and availability details for the 8GB/128GB model.
