LG has unveiled 2020 K-series of smartphones that include three models: LG K61, LG K51S, and LG K41S. These are mid-range smartphones with a focus on the camera department. All the phones offer quad rear cameras that make them stand apart in the price segment. Let's have a look at them one by one.
The LG K61 is the newest offering in the K-series and is the most premium one in the 2020 lineup. It sports a 6.5-inch Full HD+ FullVision Display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It is a punch-hole display that houses a 16-megapixel front camera. Under the hood, it has an octa-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz and paired with 4GB of RAM. The storage options include 64GB and 128GB with support for microSD cards up to 2TB.
The quad-camera setup includes a 48-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel Super Wide sensor, a 2-megapixel macro sensor, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. The whole package is powered by a 4,000mAh battery. Other noteworthy features include USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, MIL-STD-810G durability certification, fingerprint scanner, and DTS:X 3D surround sound. It has been released in White, Blue, and Titanium color variants.
The LG K51S is a direct successor to last year's LG K50S and offers a similar set of specs except for a few changes. It features a 6.5-inch HD+ Full Vision Display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a 2.3GHz octa-core processor along with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. It also offers microSD card support up to 2TB.
The quad-camera setup on this phone features a 32-megapixel main sensor, a 5-megapixel Super Wide sensor, a 2-megapixel Macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The selfie camera is a 13-megapixel sensor. There is a 4,000mAh battery and features are similar to what you would expect from LG. It means USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, MIL-STD-810G durability certification, fingerprint scanner, and DTS:X 3D surround sound. Even the color variants are the same i.e. Titanium, Blue, and White.
The LG K41S is a mid-range smartphone that will succeed LG K40S launched last year. It offers a significant upgrade over the predecessor as the phone was launched with only dual rear cameras. The newest offering has a total of four cameras: a 13-megapixel main sensor, a 5-megapixel Super Wide sensor, a 2-megapixel macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The front camera is an 8-megapixel sensor on the phone.
All other LG K41S specifications are the same as the LG K51S except that the octa-core processor is clocked at 2.0GHz instead of 2.3GHz. It also has a fingerprint scanner on the back panel.
LG is yet to reveal the pricing details of these 2020 K-series phones. It has said that these phones will go on sale in the United States sometime during the second quarter of the year followed by the release in select European and Asian markets. We should be seeing regional pricing as and when these launches will take place.
