Redmi Note 8 Pro gets permanent price drop of Rs. 1,000 in India

18 February 2020 0

Redmi India has announced a permanent Redmi Note 8 Pro price drop in India. The base variant of Redmi Note 8 Pro i.e. 4GB/64GB model will now cost Rs. 13,999 instead of the Rs. 14,999 launch price. It is a flat price slash of Rs. 1,000 but is limited to the base variants. The other two models with 6GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB configurations will continue to sell at the launch price of Rs. 15,999 and Rs. 17,999 respectively.

There is no official explanation about why the pricing has been reduced and that too only for the base model. However, it is confirmed that the new price should make the variant more tempting for potential buyers. Interestingly, the announcement has been made just one after Redmi announced a price hike for the Redmi Note 8 base model. The reason for that decision was Coronavirus outbreak affecting supply chains and as a result, it had to announce a temporary price bump.

Now coming back to the Redmi Note 8 Pro, it was launched in India about four months ago. It sports a 6.53-inch Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) notched display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is powered by the MediaTek Helio G90T processor which is paired with 6GB and 8GB of RAM. The storage options include 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB along with microSD card support.

It has a quad-camera setup featuring a 64-megapixel primary shooter with f/1.9 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. There is a 20-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture housed within the notch. It has a 4,500mAh battery with 18W fast charging and runs MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie.

The Redmi Note 8 Pro isn't still available. To be notified when it becomse available click here.
