Galaxy Z Flip, S20 supports cross-platform copy paste on Windows 10

19 February 2020 0

Samsung's newly launched foldable phone Galaxy Z Flip and flagships Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 Plus, and Galaxy S20 Ultra are packed with a number of premium and unique features. One such feature has just been announced by Microsoft which is about the cross-platform copy and paste functionality available on Windows 10.

Microsoft has said that Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy S20 series devices users can make use of the cross-platform copy and paste feature by using the Your Phone application on a Windows 10 device. The first step is to have the app installed on your Windows 10 PC or laptop. Next up, visit app settings and enable the Cross-platform copy and paste option.

Once it is done, you will be able to copy and paste between the aforementioned Galaxy devices and a Windows 10 PC. It is worth noting that the feature currently works only for texts and image files. Moreover, the feature will compress high-resolution images to 1MB before transferring them.

The good thing is that users will be able to use traditional copy and shortcuts for the feature like they have been doing so for such a long time. It means if you want to copy something from Windows to Android, simply use the Ctrl+C keyboard shortcut for copying and then tap and hold on the Android device to paste it. It should be noted the feature is not recommended to be used on a cellular data connection as it can incur heavy data charges for you.
