Huawei MateBook X Pro refreshed for 2020, MateBook D available globally

25 February 2020 0

Huawei has refreshed its MateBook X Pro laptop lineup for 2020 and expanded the MateBook D series availability globally. The former is identical to its predecessors in terms of appearance but differs when it comes to hardware specifications. As for the second, it is exactly the same thing that was unveiled in China last year. Let's cover these new 2020 products one by one.

Huawei MateBook X Pro (2020)

The biggest and only change in the MateBook X Pro (2020) is the inclusion of Intel's latest Comet Lake generation processors. It is available with the option of choosing between Core i5-10510U and Core i7-10710U chipsets. Both of these were manufactured using the 14nm++ process and offer a base frequency of 1.8GHz. With the help of Turbo Boost, it can be overclocked to 4.9GHz when needed.

All other specifications are unchanged which include:

  • 13.9-inch IPS display with 3000 x 2000 pixels resolution
  • Up to 450 nits of brightness
  • NVIDIA GeForce MX250 GPU with 2GB GDDR5 VRAM (optional)
  • 57.4Wh battery
  • Pricing starts EUR 1,499

It will go on sale in Europe, Asia Pacific, Russia, Japan, the Middle East, and Latin America starting in April 2020. And yes, there is also a new Green color option in addition to existing Mystic Silver and Space Grey.

Huawei MateBook D

As mentioned in the beginning, the MateBook D 15 and MateBook D 14 notebooks have now been expanded to western markets. These bring no changes in hardware specifications from the Chinese variant. Huawei said that the 14-inch model will cost EUR 699 for the base Ryzen model and EUR 949 for the base Intel model. The latter also offers NVIDIA GeForce MX250 GPU which is the main reason for such a major price difference.

Huawei MateBook D Specs:

  • 14-inch and 15.6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display
  • Intel Core i5-10210 and Core i7-10510U chips or AMD Ryzen 5 3500U
  • NVIDIA GeForce MX250 or Radeon Vega 8 GPU
  • Up to 8GB RAM
  • Up to 512GB SSD (15-inch also supports HDD)
  • 42Wh battery on 15-inch and 56Wh battery on 14-inch
