HMD Global has announced the next Nokia Mobile launch event will be held on March 19th in London. The event was originally scheduled for MWC 2020 but since the event has now been scrapped, it was forced to re-schedule the event like many other smartphone brands.
It has also sent out media invites confirming launch date, venue, and timings. The invite itself does not reveal anything about what to expect from HMD Global. In a separate tweet from Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas, there is a short video clip suggesting some sort of James Bond 007 collaboration.
If we go by previous rumors, HMD Global is expected to announce multiple smartphones at the event. These devices are said to be spread across different price points. The highlight of these launches is likely to be a Nokia 5G smartphone. We have seen almost all the big Android OEMs announce or talk about 5G smartphone releases and now, Nokia is all set to debut its first-ever 5G smartphone.
The first Nokia 5G smartphone could be accompanied by a few mid-range smartphones. There is also a possibility of a new Nokia Android Go smartphone that will be a budget offering. Nevertheless, we are only a couple of weeks away from the unveiling and we should be getting more information in the meantime.
