We all are eagerly waiting for the OnePlus 8 series launch but as OnePlus is yet to make any official statement, we have only reports and leaks to talk about. The rumor mill has already revealed a lot of details about the family including the mention of three models: OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro, and all-new OnePlus 8 Lite. It is time for a new leak that corroborates previously reported claims as well as revealing a few new details.
The leak is coming from an online publication 91Mobiles in collaboration with reliable tipster Ishan Agarwal (@ishanagarwal24). Starting with OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro, he has corroborated claims about the presence of a 120Hz refresh rate display panel on both phones. The Pro model is further said to have dual-mode 5G compatibility and 30W wireless charging support. It will be the first time we will see OnePlus offer wireless charging on its smartphones.
The OnePlus 8 Lite is said to be limited to 90Hz refresh rate which is still higher than the standard 60Hz. The decision makes sense as the phone is supposed to be an affordable variant and OnePlus has already confirmed that all of its new phones will have at least 90Hz panel. The display panel is also reported to come with the punch-hole design.
OnePlus has always opted for Qualcomm processors for its smartphones including the previous affordable phone OnePlus X but not this time around. Agarwal claims that the OnePlus 8 Lite will be powered by a MediaTek processor but has not specified exactly which one. It is said to cost £549 in the United Kingdom but no words on the Indian pricing. Similarly, launch event details are currently unknown but the OnePlus 8 Lite is said to become available to purchase globally by July 2020.
