After a gap of one year, Oppo has officially launched Find X2 series as a successor to 2018's Find X. The series was unveiled in China and comprises of two smartphones: Find X2 and Find X2 Pro. It goes without saying that the Pro model brings everything best that Oppo wanted to offer. Both smartphones also share a lot of specs and features and that is how we will start this launch coverage.
The Oppo Find X2 series boasts a 6.7-inch Quad HD+ (3168 x 1440 pixels) OLED punch-hole display. It offers a 120Hz refresh rate, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, a 93.1% screen-to-body ratio, 100% P3 color gamut support, and 513PPI pixel density. The phone is set to the 120Hz refresh rate by default but you can always switch back to 60Hz whenever you want. It also offers an option where the refresh rate is adjusted automatically depending on the content.
The series is powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 865 5G processor clocked at 2.84GHz and Adreno 650 GPU. There is whopping 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and it is the only option that you will get. The selfie camera is a 32-megapixel sensor with f/2.4 aperture. It offers dual optical image stabilization (OIS) and electronic image stabilization (EIS) along with phase detection autofocus (PDAF), laser autofocus (LAF), and contrast-detection autofocus (CDAF). Both smartphones will run ColorOS 7.1 based on Android 10 out of the box.
Now, let's move what makes these two smartphones different from each other. The Oppo Find X2 and Find X2 Pro come with 512GB and 256GB onboard storage respectively with no microSD card support. The rear camera setup on the Pro model features a 48-megapixel Sony IMX689 wide-angle camera with f/1.7 aperture, a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 Ultra wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture, and a 13-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with f/3.0 aperture (10X hybrid zoom, 60X digital zoom).
As for the standard Find X2, you will get a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 wide-angle camera with f/1.7 aperture, a 12-megapixel ultra wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture, and a 13-megapixel telephoto camera with f/2.4 aperture (5X hybrid zoom, 20X digital zoom). The battery capacity is 4,260mAh and 4,200mAh on Find X2 Pro and Find X2 respectively. There is 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 Flash Charge fast charging support on both smartphones.
The Oppo Find X2 has been priced at EUR 999 for the 12GB/256GB model with an option to choose from Black (Ceramic) and Ocean (Glass) color variants. On another hand, the Oppo Find X2 Pro (12GB/512GB) will cost you EUR 1,299 with Black (Ceramic) and Orange (Vegan Leather) options. Both smartphones will go on sale sometime in early May 2020.
