A new rumor on the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro phones has arrived that claims to share the exact launch date of the two devices. According to the tipster Max J. on Twitter, the OnePlus 8 series may launch on April 15. He has shared the concept image of the device with a big reveal of the date. The information goes in line with the one we learned a few days back, courtesy of TechRadar. The publication was tipped that the OnePlus 8 series will launch in the second week of April.
Previously, the launch of the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro phones was rumored to be March but the April launch appears more likely. It is expected that like many others, OnePlus will also hold an online-only event to unveil its OnePlus 8 series due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
According to Roland Quandt from WinFture, the OnePlus 8 Lite phones will see a delay in its launch by several months. According to a previous report, OnePlus 8 Lite may launch in July with the triple camera setup, MediaTek’s Dimensity 1000 chipset.
Recently, in an interview with CNET, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed that the OnePlus 8 series will feature 5G connectivity and hence the consumers will see an increase in the price. OnePlus has a strong foothold in India and it is unlikely that the company would go all-5G in the country where the 5G penetration is almost negligible. It is possible that OnePlus may also launch the 4G variants of the new models as well to the market where 5G isn’t available yet.
We look forward to hearing more about the OnePlus 8 series in the coming days.
