Vivo has announced that Vivo 19 Indian launch has been postponed due to the Coronavirus epidemic and lockdowns across the whole country. The announcement covers all new product launches which will not be held until the situation improves. It further revealed that the company will be focusing on providing essential aid for tackling COVID-19 in India.
The announcement mentions that Vivo is working closely with the government to ascertain how it can help in this situation. It will be starting by providing surgical and N95 masks for doctors and healthcare workers. This is one of the ways it will help but is also looking at other ways to provide aid.
Here is the official statement from Vivo:
“During these tough times, the well being of our customers, partners, employees, and fellow citizens is our number one priority. Hence, we have decided to suspend all our new product launches starting from V19, while we fight this crisis and focus our time and resources towards COVID-19 relief efforts.”

The delay announcement is not surprising considering Vivo along with other OEMs including Samsung, Oppo, and LG has shut down their manufacturing plants in India. As India has announced a nation-wide lockdown for the next 21 days, it does not look like the product launch situation will change anytime soon.
