OnePlus Pay mobile payment service has been released officially in China. It was first announced in late-September at the time of the OnePlus TV launch in India. It is an NFC-based mobile payment solution that is currently available only on the latest flagships i.e. OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro.
The official post on OnePlus China forums mentions that OnePlus Pay was under beta testing for more than six months. It has now been released for public usage and will also be expanded to support other smartphones. The service is accessible through the OnePlus Wallet app but one should be on the latest app version as well as the latest HydrogenOS version.
Once the wallet app is launched, the first step is to set up a OnePlus Pay user profile by linking it with one's bank account and credit card details. There are currently limited bank/credit card partners but the team is working on adding more. A user will also need to make it the default NFC mobile payment app on their device to make it work.
Another thing to keep in mind is that OnePlus Pay currently works with a limited set of apps for now. The team is working on increasing the compatibility aspect so that users can pay at as many places as possible.
