OnePlus started its journey of developing phones with the aim of offering more at a lesser price. For years, the Chinese manufacturer stayed true to its objective but of late, it had to make certain choices to amp up the overall game.
While the company is never settling and continuously making efforts with its every new flagship offering, it has somewhat lost the title for being the “flagship killer.” The company, in fact, has received enough criticism for not putting worth on the table at such an expensive price tag. Although, its new strategy of bringing four phones to the market at different price points did pay off. But, its loyal followers who have been following it for years do miss the main essence and that is, more for less. And, going by some speculations, OnePlus is indeed considering bringing something similar that may not go heavy on your pockets.
The source referred to it as "OnePlus Z" and said the hardware matched the previous OnePlus 8 Lite render. https://t.co/zB5PN9nQjW— Max Weinbach (@MaxWinebach) March 28, 2020
Also, the latest tweet of Max Weinbach from XDA Developers hints that the plans of bringing a real flagship killer after so long are actually flourishing. Weinbach is told by his source that OnePlus is revamping the OnePlus X under a new series. Later on, in a reply to this tweet, he revealed by citing the same source that this new phone will be known as the OnePlus Z . The source also claims that the hardware in the new phone matches that of the rumored OnePlus 8 Lite. This alludes that whatever we have learned about the OnePlus 8 Lite could actually be true.
So, if that is the case then expect the new OnePlus Z to come with a flat display, punch-hole design, and rear triple cameras set up. Back in December 2019, one of the top leaksters shared some early renders of the alleged OnePlus 8 Lite. With a similar to design to Galaxy S11 and Galaxy Note 10 Lite, OnePlus 8 Lite has a punch-hole placed in the top-center of the display. The renders also show a Type-C port on the bottom of the frame. The alert slider is located on the side and the headphone jack is not present.
Well, the only thing which is unknown right now is the launch details, which we expect to hear soon.
