As we are getting closer to the launch of the next OnePlus flagship, new reports have emerged claiming that the OnePlus 7T Pro has been discontinued in China. The current-gen flagship is said to be unavailable for purchase through official channels in the Chinese market. These include JD.com and Tmall along with the official OnePlus China website.
The report from ITHome has cited screenshots shared by various users showing that the OnePlus 7T Pro is listed as out of stock on online stores. This is for the all the configuration variants of the phone except for the McLaren Edition. This is a special edition with a unique set of colors as compared to standard models and also offers 12GB of RAM with 512GB onboard storage.
There is a good possibility that this might just be the shortage of stock but speculations have surfaced that it is because of the imminent OnePlus 8 series launch. This is because it is not uncommon for tech companies to stop selling older generation products as they prepare to announce new-generation of devices.
The OnePlus 8 series is rumored to feature three models: OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro, and OnePlus 8 Lite. The first two will be the standard releases but the third one will be an affordable variant. There will be a 120Hz display panel available with the two phones along with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 5G chipset. These are said to offer punch-hole display, quad rear cameras, wired fast charging, wireless fast charging, and reverse wireless charging. The Pro model will even have IP68 dust and water resistance.
