Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 is a gaming laptop with dual displays

02 April 2020 0

The Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 is the newest gaming laptop from the Republic of Gamers (ROG). It is being touted as the world's first gaming laptop with dual displays which definitely makes it stand apart. The dual display concept was introduced by Asus with the ZenBook Duo series last year that has now been expanded to gaming laptops.

The Zephyrus Duo 15 has a 15.6-inch main display with an option to choose from 4K panel with 60Hz and a 1080p panel with a 300Hz refresh rate. The secondary display aka ScreenPad Plus is present on the keyboard deck but towards the upper half. It is a 14.1-inch display panel with 3840 x 1100 pixels resolution and touchscreen input/stylus support.

There is even a hinge that helps lift the secondary display at a 13-degree angle. It will result in a better viewing angle for the users as well as opening up more space for improved airflow. However, the new design means touchpad had to be moved from the usual center position to the right side. It is surely an awkward position but since it is primarily a gaming laptop, many would not have to use the touchpad.

As for other specifications, it is powered by the Intel Core i9-10980HK processor paired with 32GB of RAM. It offers NVIDIA RTX 2080 GPU and 2TB of RAID storage. The 4K model with this configuration will cost $3,699.99 with sales from July 1st. The 1080p model with the same specs but half the RAM and storage is priced at $3,499 with sales starting July 29th. There is one more variant that offers Intel Core i7-10875H processor, 32GB of RAM, 2TB of RAID storage, and NVIDIA RTX 2070 Super GPU and will cost $2,999.
