DisplayMate, the company that produces calibration and optimization software for smartphones and the mobile display has done an in-depth display analysis on the yet-to-come OnePlus 8 series.

OnePlus’ next major flagship series is not yet available and nor does the official report by DisplayMate. But PCMag has managed to get exclusive rights to present to you some results given by the company. Several lab tests were conducted on the series and it is found that the phones have aced DisplayMate’s assessment.

Dr. Ray Soneira of DisplayMate Labs said,

"OnePlus clearly wanted to make an outstanding display. That motivation really shows up in their choice of metrics, parameters, and excellent factory calibration. The whole factory calibration system is one of the big pluses for OnePlus."

Sascha Segan, PCMag’s lead mobile analyst claims in his report that he saw two pre-launch DisplayMate lab test reports from OnePlus phones. According to Segan, the names of these two devices are unknown but referring to speculations, one, is the OnePlus 8 Pro, with a "2K+" high-res display, and the other, presumably the OnePlus 8, which doesn’t have a display resolution specified but appears to be 1080p. He also said that at least one will have a 120Hz, which according to several rumors is going to be OnePlus 8 Pro.

Segan also reports, the OnePlus 8 series has Vivid and Natural color modes and the screen is noticeably brighter. The other part of the report from DisplayMate given to PCMag concludes the OnePlus 8 series’ display has an A Plus rating.

Dr. Raymond Soniera, Founder, President, and CEO of DisplayMate Technologies reportedly said to Segan that he only reviews the best-performing displays now, because they are the only ones he says people are really interested in. And, clearly looking at the result, it’s not hard to conclude that the OnePlus 8 series has a great display to offer.

As teased by OnePlus as well on its Twitter account, the OnePlus 8 series’ Fluid Display elevates viewing experience and it gets 10 Plus Display Performance Records.

The site explains the OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 8 Pro phones use two user-selectable color modes – first is Vivid that has a wider color gamut and high image contrast and second is Natural which can be set to more accurately represent either the digital cinema DCI-P3 color space or the older sRGB color space.

The report claims, in its Vivid mode, the OnePlus 8 Pro has a brighter screen than any recent Samsung Galaxy or even Google Pixel. With automatic brightness turned on outdoors, it can pump up to 1009 nits, compared with 995 on the Galaxy S20 Ultra and 665 on the OnePlus 7 Pro.

The report presents an in-depth analysis of the display of the new OnePlus 8 series which you can read by following the source link provided below.
