Redmi has announced a new Redmi 8A Pro budget smartphone in Indonesia. It is essentially the Redmi 8A Dual that was unveiled in India about two months ago. The key features of the phone include dual rear cameras and huge battery life. It further has an octa-core processor and features USB Type-C port.
The Redmi 8A Pro sports a 6.22-inch HD+ (1520 x 720 pixels) LCD display with a dot-like notch and Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Under the hood, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor with Adreno 505 GPU. There are two configuration options: 2GB RAM with 16GB storage and 3GB RAM with 32GB storage. Both models support microSD cards for storage expansion.
In the camera department, the back panel features a 13-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The front camera is an 8-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture. The whole package is powered by a 5,000mAh battery and it will run MIUI 11 based on Android 9 Pie out of the box.
Redmi has priced the Redmi 8A Pro at IDR 1,549,000 (about $93) for 2GB/16GB variant and at IDR 1,649,000 (about $99) for 3GB/32GB variant. It has been released in Sky White, Midnight Grey, and Sea Blue color options. The exact sales date is currently unknown but is expected to become available by the end of the month.
