Realme, the Chinese smartphone maker appears to be at close to launching its first smart TV as the remote control of the same has received Bluetooth certification.
Not so long ago, Realme’s CEO Madhav Sheth shared the company’s aim to establish itself as a technology-lifestyle brand. This listing of the remote control of Realme’s first probable smart TV is a reflection that the plans may start to flourish soon. The company, however, confirmed in February that it will launch its first smart TV in Q2 2020. But looking at the current scenario where the COVID-19 is spreading like a wildfire and thrashing everything away, we are unable to comment on the launch. Nevertheless, the Bluetooth listing is proof that Realme is working on its first smart TV that may become official soon.
The listing page doesn’t reveal too many details but it does reveal an important feature and that is Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. We can’t deem what controls the remote control will come with or there will be any direct button to OTT services like Netflix.
Earlier, a report based on BIS listing suggested the Realme smart TV series will come with a starting screen size of 43-inches, though model number indicates that this may start from a TV with a 55-inch size rather.
The competition in the smart TV market in India is on the rise, especially the budget segment and Xiaomi is actually excelling in this area. But soon, Realme will come and dare to get the big market share of the TV industry in India by offering even more affordable products. Stay tuned while we get more information on the Realme TV.
