Oppo has expanded its A-series with the launch of the new phone A52. It’s an entry-level Android phone that has been launched in China for now and it comes only in a single variant – 8GB RAM with 128GB storage. The phone is actually listed on the company’s website for the country with the price and availability details as well.
The Oppo A52 features a 6.5-inch screen with 1080x2400 pixel resolution with 90.5 percent screen to body ratio. The phone is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 665 processor which is accompanied by Oppo's HyperBoost technology that adds smoother experience. The device runs Android-based ColorOS 7.1 that includes faster and redesigned UI.
The Oppo A52 includes the quad rear cameras and their configuration includes 12MP primary snapper, 8MP secondary sensor, accompanied by two 2MP sensors as well. All these camera sensors are housed in the rectangular camera module along with the flash. The phone takes selfies with an 8MP snapper, which is housed inside the hole-punch on the top-left corner of the display.
The onboard storage is 128GB of UFS2.1 storage and the connectivity options include Wi-Fi, LTE, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port for charging. The phone doesn’t include a back-mounted fingerprint sensor and it rather has a side-mounted one for authentication purposes. The Oppo A52 includes a 5,000mAH battery with 18W wired charging support.
The listed price of the Oppo A52 on the company’s website is CNY 1,599 (approx. $230) for the sole 8GB RAM with a 128GB storage version. It is currently available in China in Black and Blue color options. It is unknown whether the phone will launch globally or not.
